Our clinic provides International Health Certificates (IHCs) for pets traveling outside the United States.
International travel requirements can be complex and vary significantly by country. To ensure accuracy and compliance, we require:
An initial consultation appointment to review destination-specific requirements
A non-refundable deposit to schedule the International Health Certificate process
We strongly encourage clients to plan well in advance, as many countries have strict timelines, testing requirements, and waiting periods that can take weeks or even months to complete. Please be aware:
Some countries have breed-specific restrictions or do not permit entry of certain dog breeds.
Airline requirements may differ from country regulations and must also be followed.
There are specific U.S. re-entry requirements depending on the countries your pet has visited.
For certain destinations (such as Australia), we may recommend working with a professional pet travel coordinator due to the complexity of the import process.
Last-minute requests may be assessed an emergency fee. Please note that we cannot expedite laboratory testing timelines or USDA endorsement processing.
Our team is happy to help guide you through the process and early planning is essential to avoid travel delays.

FLEXIBILITY
Filling your pet’s medications at our pharmacy ensures accurate record management, helping us ensure timely refills and flexibility with exam and testing requirements. Outside, third-party pharmacies don’t provide us with refill records, making it harder to monitor your pet’s care.
CONVENIENCE
Eliminate the hassle of obtaining a written prescription, the incontinence of sending it to a third-part pharmacy, and risking extensive turnaround time and/or shipping. Call or email us 48 hours prior to pickup and we'll have your pet's medications ready to go!
KNOWLEDGE
Our veterinarians and staff are trained and knowledgeable in the proper use, safety, and benefits of veterinary pharmaceuticals, including extra-label use. Retail pharmacies may lack specialized veterinary expertise, potentially leading to medication substitutions that contain dangerous ingredients, such as xylitol.

Pharmacy Guidelines and Requests
Product Guarantees:
We stand behind our products. The guarantees offered by manufacturers are often only valid if the medication is purchased through a veterinary pharmacy. Generic heartworm medication available at retail pharmacies may not have a treatment guarantee in the event your pet contracts heartworm while using the product.
Outside and Third-Party Pharmacies:
Due to a multitude of factors, we do not respond to faxed or e-mail requests from outside or third-party pharmacies. By authorizing a solicited prescription request, Seatown is subjected to various liabilities in the event the outside third-party pharmacy provides the wrong medication or instructions for use and also is unable to validate the identity of the requesting pet owner. By using the Seatown Pharmacy, we have the ability to control dosages, instructions, and authenticity of the product.
Prescription Requests:
When requested by clients, Seatown Veterinary Care, will provide a written prescription for approved medications, to be used for an outside or third-party online pharmacy (ex. Chewy, 1-800-Petmeds). A single copy of the prescription will be provided to the owner to be sent to the pharmacy of your choosing. Due to resource constraints, Seatown is unable to facilitate or process any communications with outside third-party pharmacy vendors.
We encourage our clients to order their pet’s medications online through the secure Seatown Pharmacy. We ensure competitive pricing, streamlined efficiency, medical record accuracy, as well as automates any applicable promotions.
